Xfinity Assistant will not respond

My Wi-Fi is currently out and while troubleshooting if I attempt to go to xfinity assistant - in the app or on any browser on my phone, the assistant will not respond. The three dot chat bubble will show up but no messages come through. I have attempted the unplug and plug back in method with no success (the light swaps between flashing yellow and flashing green) but am unsure what to try now as the chat will not respond and there are no other methods to contact customer support that I can find without going through the currently unavailable assistant.
