xfi gateway defective new modem hasn't arrived after 8 days

My first xfi gateway modem was defective, the power light never showed, other lights would flash but no connectivity couldn't change the name of the network and assign a password. After 40 minutes of troubleshooting on the phone they said they would send me a new modem. I haven't received it now 8 days later. I got an email a few days after the troubleshooting saying it arrived but it has not. Xfinity called me this morning and didn't leave a voice mail. I tried calling but they kept pushing the virtual assistant on me. I just want a working modem and wifi connectivity and now it's taken weeks just to get started and I'm exhausted. This is a terrible first impression about what to expect from xfinity service.

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

White light blinking on router fresh out of the box.  Couldn't establish a connection 3 times after saying "connecting will take 3 minutes" unplugged router set a timer for 1 minute replugged in. White light blinking. I get through the process until it asks me to name the wifi and create a password. Tried 3 times it says "there was a problem" I cannot get past this step and cannot set up my wifi and it's taking me weeks to get set up as a result and I'm tired. I had the same problem with my last router but the last router also didn't display the power light as being on even though the other lights would blink on.
