Xfi boost pods making loud noise from fan

We just activated the new xfi boost pods and after about 15 minutes, the fan went on and is now having a constant buzzing noise. Is this normal?

@Rfjr69 Thank you so much for your post about your new Xfi boost pods making noises. I have the first generation pods, and they run silently only having the slow blinking white light on the front to let me know they are on. If you are encountering any noises I would start by checking to make sure they are firmly plugged into the outlet and not slipping or able to wiggle when plugged in. Then I would check to see if they are giving off any extra heat. They will be warm to the touch but should not be hot. If you find they are hot to the touch I would recommend discontinuing use right away and checking our return/exchange page here for how to swap them out. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/return-exchange-xfi-pods

Thanks, but These are the new 2nd generation pods and about 3 times bigger than the first generation. These also have a built in fan.
just wondering if it’s supposed to be loud or if we got a bad one that needs to be replaced.

@Rfjr69 I understand however they still have a similar design and should not have a noticeable sound at all if used correctly. This would be the same as your Xfi enabled gateway working silently to fill in where the gateway can not reach. Any sound is worrying, and I would recommend checking out the exchange options using the link above unless you can locate an obvious cause like the outlet being loose for example.
