XB8 Not Powering Up After Storm
My gateway does not seem to power up after a storm last night--I am basing that on the light itself being out no matter what outlet it is plugged in to. Would the light not being on actually indicate the device isn't powering on? The local xfinity location seemed to think so, but couldn't do anything in-store since they did not have the device in stock. When trying to chat with an agent about a replacement device it seemed like they thought further diagnosis was needed before they would help with that equipment exchange.

Hey there @user_f2700e ! So sorry to hear that XB8 didn't come out well after the storm! I am always up for more troubleshooting, but if the thing isn't coming on at all no matter what outlet you plug into, then we need to go ahead and get you swapped out.
As I'm sure you're aware, we've had limited stock of XB8s since our launch in April, so when shipping one out to you, an XB7 may be sent if that's all that is available. Please send us a 1-1 chat and we can get started anytime
