X class

Hello,

I upgraded to x class and the tech installed a white modem and an xdr-4.  My internet and cable was out for two days and a tech came today.  He said it was disabled and fixed things.  He also removed the xdr-4 modem saying it was not needed.  Is this true? What is the function of the xdr-4 and why did the original tech install it?

Good afternoon @SpecK1. Were you given two modems or is the other piece of equipment you mentioned something different?

The first tech installed a white modem and the black xdr-4 modem which connected to the white modem.

Gotcha, thank you so much for clarifying that for us @SpecK1! The dedicated technicians at the location would have the best details regarding what devices are needed within the home. If the most recent technician was able to determine that it was not something that was needed within the home, it would be best to maintain that setup. They are able to ensure the signal to the home is great, and all the connections within the home.
