X Class service

Does xfinity offer a map of the infrastructure that they are working on to upgrade to the X Class service. Wondering when this is coming to different cities other than the selected few to start up with. I have seen xfinity trucks in the area working on the powerlines.

Hi there, @user_d747lv Thank you so much for reaching out to us on this forum! I do apologize we do not have a map on what areas are being upgraded. Once your area is being upgraded you will receive an email letting you know.-Richard

Can you atleast give us some info on how the process works?  When the mid-split's with 100-300mbps uploads were rolled out they sent a notification a couple of months ahead saying that maintenance is being done in your area and we are taking service down for upgrade for future enhancements and then afterwards we received an email saying your upload speeds are now improved.  Will that same network upgrade step occur when a neighborhood moves from mid-splits to x-class symmetrical service?  Since this upgrade also requires CPE equipment as a customer I'd like to know what is the trigger for availability coming so I can be proactive in reaching out to get the upgraded equipment needed asap.  Thanks for any details you can provide about the customer experience!

Hello, kirkyg! X-Class Internet is a next-generation service with equally fast upload and download speeds - featuring our most powerful Xfinity Gateway and unlimited data included. X-Class internet can connect hundreds of devices at the same time. Powered by the Xfinity Network, it's only available in select areas. You can see if X-Class is available in your area here.

Eligibility:
- Must be on a current speed tier: Connect, Connect More, Fast, Superfast, Gigabit, or Gigabit Extra (Gigabit x2 is exclusively available in enhanced speed markets).

- Located in a next-generation market

- Must have an XB6, XB7, XB8, or supported customer-owned and managed (COAM) device.

To clarify, my specific question is can you provide details on what to expect as a neighborhood is upgraded to x-class service?

- Will we received an email saying our neighborhood is receiving enhancements requiring an outage (similar to the upgrades for mid-splits) or is this stop no longer required?

- If so, about how long will it be after upgrades occur that service will be opened to customers to update to x-class service?

- Will we need to check with local store on access to XD4 or XB10 docsis equipment or will this just be mailed to us?
