WiFi Pods ssue - that apparently everyone is having

I’m reaching out regarding an urgent safety concern with our Xfinity WiFi extender pods. We’ve recently discovered that several of the pods are overheating—severely enough to leave black scorch marks on the surrounding walls. It appears this has been happening for some time without our knowledge.

While I understand these devices are long out of warranty, the warranty period should not impact responsibility when the issue involves a potential fire hazard. Overheating strong enough to scorch walls is not normal wear and tear, and it raises serious concerns about the safety and reliability of this equipment.

Given the potential risk, I am requesting that Xfinity replace these pods at no cost and review whether this issue is part of a broader defect. We would like to avoid further safety hazards and ensure our household’s network equipment is safe to use.

Please advise on the next steps as soon as possible.

Thank you.

I completely understand your concern, and I want to reassure you that your safety is our top priority. You should never have to worry about your equipment being a fire hazard. While networking devices can get warm, if yours are causing any unease, we definitely want to find a better solution for your wood-framed home immediately.  To get your office and printer connected reliably on the opposite side of the house, we can look into our WiFi Boost Pods. These create a seamless mesh network specifically designed to carry signals through walls more effectively than traditional extenders. I would also love to check if you are eligible for an upgrade to our latest Gateway, which offers our best coverage and cooling technology yet. Often, simply centralizing a newer Gateway can eliminate the need for extra hardware entirely!

Let’s get this resolved so you can work with total peace of mind. Could you please send us a direct message with your name and address? I’d be happy to review your equipment and see if we can get a newer, more powerful device out to you right away.
