WiFi out for 24 hours with no updates

My WiFi has been out for 24 hours. When I look at the reasoning it says “severe weather,” both at my home, in the town north of me, and in the town south of me. The status for all three, the entire time, has been “under investigation.” How long does it take Xfinity to investigate the subject? When can they start repairing it? The fact that it says internet will be restored “as soon as possible” is not helpful either. As soon as possible could be today, tomorrow, or 6 years from now. It feels like these are very corporate responses that are intentionally vague so as to not tell customers what is actually being done to fix the service. Makes me wonder what I’m paying Xfinity for. The severe weather in question has been a non-issue for over 24 hours now as well. I can see the sun out. I work remotely and as a result of this, my work is moving a lot more slowly (and expensively, I might add) as I’m required to use my phone as a hotspot. Additionally, I put in the addresses of my neighbors on the outage map, and their systems are working fine. It feels as though Xfinity doesn’t care about implementing proper service, as long as they get to bill me every month.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hey there MJ4300 👋 I know how impairing it is to be without service for an extended period of time, especially when you rely on your connection for work, so thank you for coming to our community to let us know about your situation. When it comes to interruptions caused by severe weather, rest assured our local teams work as quickly as possible as long as any given area is safe to work in, but the fact that the next home over from yours is showing not to be impaired by any interruption is certainly alarming and shouldn't necessarily be the case. Given it's a bit of an odd situation, I'd love to look into this further if it's still going on.

To get started, please send us a direct chat message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the full service address associated with your account to “Xfinity Support”.
