Wifi modem is running very hot and keeps losing connection

Your assistant was completely useless with this problem and would just keep offering me my login info. I'll be sure to use that when this thing finally catches on fire.

How can I have my modem either looked at or replaced?

@chrisjenc It is very common for modems to run hot due to the amount of power running to them from the power outlet and within the coax cable. You'll want to ensure it's in an open area that is well ventilated so the fans can circulate the air properly.

You mentioned losing connection in the post title, are you seeing that connection issue on multiple devices? Is the issue present on both types of connections, wired and wireless? We would strongly recommend reviewing our internet troubleshooting tips our forum experts put together.

The cooling fan may be malfunctioning or the blades are loaded with dust. It's quite a common problem here. You could try blowing it out with some canned air. If that doesn't work, there is no fix other than to get it swapped out for another by them. Taking it to your local Xfinity store to be swapped out for another would be the fastest option, or ship it back for free via UPS and have them ship you another one. You can also choose to pay for a UPS pick up at https://www.ups.com/us/en/business-solutions/pickup-dropoff-options/ups-on-call-pickup.page  or by calling 1-800-PICK-UPS.
