My box did not come with any cable to se the box up, was it supposed to?

If you visit this link, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/what-is-included-in-an-xfinity-self-install-kit, you'll see that, along with your gateway, you should have received a coaxial cable (except in fiber-to-the-unit installations) and a power cord. This link https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/activate-xfi-gateway-app will cover how to activate the device as well.
