wi fi shield/cybersecurity set up without the xfinity app

For those of us with Android 11 we no longer have access to the Xfinity App so how do we set up Cyber Security/WIFI shield? Are they the same and are they really free? And without the app how would we manage the feature?

Are they compatible with Windows Defender?

Good Morning, @TerriB! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums! I am very sorry to hear about the access concerns regarding the Xfinity App, and the Cyber Security/ WiFi shield activation. It would require the app to activate the feature, and they are included at no cost as long as you have an eligible gateway. You can find the details here.

As far as accessing it, if you have a tablet or another device that is compatible with the Xfinity App, that would be the best way with activating it. I will document the feedback on our end, as we are always looking for ways to improve our customers experience.

@XfinityAdrienne Thanks for the quick response. There is a huge community of dedicated Xfinity users who have Android 11 and have been very vocal on these forums about not being able to use the Xfinity app any longer and not in a position to put out a pile of money for a new phone or other device when ours work just fine just because Xfinity chose not to accommodate us with an upgraded app. We were told on these forums that we could manage ALL our acct needs on Xfinity.com. Well...not so much and this time its a security issue. Not acceptable. I have a desktop pc and tablet and phone and tablet and phone are Android 11. We need to be accommodated.
