Why is it impossible to speak with a real person
the ai on the costumer service is worthless. the ai on the xfinity assistant is worthless and they both can never fix the problem that i have and automatically assume i'm calling about the outage in my area and hang up on me. i'm trying to get an iphone on my mobile plan unlocked so i can add an eSim to it.

If you need to unlock your Xfinity Mobile phone, so it can be used with another wireless carrier, no problem. In most cases, your phone will be unlocked automatically within up to 48 hours of being paid off.
Here are the other unlock requirements to be aware of:
If you believe you’ve met these requirements, but your phone is still locked, please chat with Xfinity Assistant.
We don’t unlock phones for international travel unless the requirements above are met.
Only the account holder, Primary user, or a Manager on the phone’s original Xfinity Mobile account can request to have it unlocked.
Unlock Apple devices
After you’ve met all requirements to unlock your phone, please visit Apple support for steps to finish unlocking your iPhone.
Note: Apple devices do not require an unlock code. They unlock through updates made when connected to WiFi or cellular data.

I just spent an hour trying to get a hold of them for a billing issue. I found this number online 800-934-6489 and it got me to a real person pretty quick who was much more helpful than the last one i managed to speak with. Hope this helps!
