Why does this company charge people differently and not offer the same discounts your neighbors received?

I am a "Diamond Member" (whatever that means and whatever benefits it comes with, I did not get an answer). I just hung up from a 2 hour 2 minute phone call that went nowhere. I have my neighbor's bill where she got a 1 Gig internet service for $60 per month (along with $10 discount for paying automatically) so her final bill is $51.05. I called retention to get that price. I was told it is not available to me. The best they could do is 300 mh (less than I have now) at the price she is getting 1 Gig. for I asked that they explain why they cannot offer the same and got a run around. For two hours, no one could tell me why my account of over 10 years is not as important as my neighbor's.  I was told "check back next month".  This blows my mind that we, as customers, are not treated equally. I told them I was not asking for anything my neighbor did not get, I just want to be treated equally. They said they could not do it. I don't buy that. In that two hours +, I spoke to retention, then was sent back to customer service, spoke to a manager that forwarded me back to retention. Am I angry? Yes. But more than that, I am extremely insulted that after 10 years of service, I am being treated like I do not matter as much as someone else. The unfairness is insane. I can't make it make sense. Does anyone think this is the way a business should run? Now, I guess I have to figure out my best option. I did not ask to be treated special, just the same but they could not do it.

user_wvrpmj, Hello there! Thank you for sharing your experience with us and for reaching out to my team on Xfinity Forums. I love that you are one of our Diamond customers and that you have been with us for so long. I understand where you are coming from when you have a neighbor that is receiving a discount that does not seem to be available on your account. Many times I find that customers receiving the gigabit internet discount are part of a new customer promotion. When initially signing up for services you may have received a promotional discount at that time as well. However, new customer promotions are not available on existing accounts. I don't want this to make you feel less important, your business is crucial to our success just as a new customer.
I have worked with many customers along the same lines looking for a new customer deal, and while I have not been able to assist with obtaining that new promotion, I have been able to uncover other ways to help save our customers on their other accounts by adding new Xfinity services to their accounts. One key items has been our Xfinity mobile service which offers unlimited data lines with mobile hotspot included to keep all devices connected while on the go. It's possible that your account could be eligible for savings as well. Were our agents able to explore those options with you?

That price and discount she got was definitely NOT a new customer discount, a house that was with you 4 years also received it. She also does not have mobile phone service with Xfinity. I just want the price she got, that is all. Why is that too much for you to do? I am very disappointed with Xfinity service, as I said THIS IS NOT A NEW CUSTOMER PROMOTION for sure. The inequity is very upsetting.
