Why can’t I contact the actual store?
Having a requirement that customers must have Xfinity Internet in order to have Xfinity Mobile should ALSO require Xfinity to provide customers with a direct line to their LOCAL Xfinity stores.
Calling a local store should NOT result in being redirected to AI, an 800/888 number, or a customer service representative who is located in an entirely different time zone and has no direct access to the local store you are actually trying to reach.
And let’s be clear: the customer service representatives are not the problem. The system is.
You put employees like जॉयस in an absolutely terrible position—having to deal with frustrated, angry customers who are simply trying to get help, while Xfinity provides them with virtually no meaningful way to resolve the issue at the local level.
And this post will probably get buried among the thousands of other customers who have repeatedly asked for the SAME thing: Give customers a direct line to local stores.
If Xfinity wants to outsource customer service after local business hours, fine. But during normal business hours, customers should be able to directly contact the local store that serves their community.
Because why is it that I can walk into an Xfinity store and speak to someone face-to-face, but if I CALL THAT SAME STORE, I’m sent through an automated system, bounced around 800 numbers, and ultimately connected to someone who cannot directly connect me to the people I was trying to reach in the first place?
Xfinity is Comcast. This is a massive telecommunications company. There is absolutely no reason the customer-service infrastructure should be this difficult to navigate.
You take customers’ money every month. A LOT of it. The least you can do is invest some of that money into making customer support functional, accessible, and actually connected to the communities you serve.
And accessibility matters here. Xfinity is making hard situations harder.
For some customers, Xfinity may be the only realistic internet option available to them. That means they don’t necessarily have the luxury of simply saying, “Fine, I’ll take my business somewhere else.”
That makes this more than an inconvenience. It becomes a question of whether customers have meaningful access to the services they’re paying for and the support they need when something goes wrong.
So, Xfinity, please stop putting your employees in the line of fire for a system YOU designed.
Give your local stores direct phone lines. Give your employees the tools to actually help customers. Give customers a reasonable way to reach the people who can resolve their problems.
Because customers shouldn’t have to fight their way through AI, automated phone trees, outsourced call centers, and three different time zones just to talk to the person who works local.
Xfinity can do better. And frankly, with what customers pay, we shouldn’t have to beg you to.
