Where can I find more detailed data about my network usage?

I have witnessed a massive increase in my data usage, starting in December 2021, but my usage behavior has not changed. I would like to know where I can find more detailed data about my network usage. Please note, I have an Xfinity modem and have already changed my network passwords to make sure there are no unauthorized devices on my network. Additionally, I have scanned for malware and found no suspicious activity. Nonetheless, I have seen my average daily usage go from about 15 GBs per day from July-Nov 2021, to 35 GB per day since Dec 2021. But again, my personal usage and the devices connected to the network have not changed.

Hi, @user_965b7a! We appreciate you taking those steps in regard to the data usage spike you're seeing. You can view the data usage overall on xfinity dot com My Account or on the My Account app, however, you can't see detailed usage. Since you're not sure where the data usage is coming from, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Security Assurance team at 1-888-565-4329. They're able to see more details and will be able to further assist you.

@XfinityBiancaB I called the number you provided and was told that I could download the Xfinity xFi app and I would be able to see detailed data usage for each device. However, the only thing I can see is an overall view of the last 24 hours of data usage, but even then the chart does not give actual numbers, but rather classifies usage from "Zero" to "Very High" -- I have no idea what "Very High" means. Is there a way for me to see exactly how much data a specific device is using? Thank you.

I am very sorry, I do not have that ability and neither does any of our apps to show exactly how much data each device used. Our Customer Assurance team are the only department that would be able to dig deeper into your internet usage.

I no longer work for Comcast.

I would like to find out my daily data usage in order to determine why my usage is higher this month when the actual use of the data is lower. I should be able to get a detailed bill stating each day of use and how much data was used on each day. There was a time when we had phone bills that stated every single phone call how long it lasted who came from and whether it was incoming or outgoing. I know the technology is available to see actual daily usage totals. How do I get my information from you?

Greetings, @Kenandeva! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about your data usage. You have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

We can pull up a daily report on your data usage, if you would like to go through that with us, but the actual data usage we see is not real-time. It can be delayed up to 24 hours at any given time, so it's difficult to pinpoint any specific events. Still, it might help to identify any patterns or changes.

If you could send our team a private message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

To send a Private Message, please click on the chat icon in the top-right corner of the screen, next to the bell icon, and then type or select "Xfinity Support" to initiate a live session.

I would also like this information as our usage has greatly spiked, but we aren't doing anything different. It would be great to have days and times when usage was high, not just by month. Are we able to obtain this information? It's scary how quickly we are plowing through the data.

Hi, @user_14c12a! Thanks for spending your time to reach out to XFINITY for help with the data usage concern. I never like seeing unexpected data usage increases so I can understand how important it is to track that data usage. Did you know that we actually offer 4 great ways to track data usage? One is by signing in to the Usage Meter page under the My Account section at https://comca.st/3JNLqWQ. The second way is for X1 platform users where you can simply say Monthy Data Usage into your X1 Voice remote control which is my favorite! The other two ways are through the XFINITY My Account app and the XFINITY xFi app. Please let me know if this helps.

Exactly!!!   Ours has spiked so high since Dec. 2021 we have gone OVER our 1.2 TB three times.  We haven’t changed anything.  No new devices, no changes in habits.  I think something at xfinity is NOT working correctly.

My name is Christy, and I would be happy to look into your data usage with you today. To get started, may I please have your first and last name, the primary account holder's full name if that is not you and your full address? -Christy
