What happened to humans in customer service

I recently had a service technician come out to fix my internet issues. The technician ended up replacing my gateway (problem fixed). The technician took my old gateway and now I’m constantly getting messages to return my old gateway.

Every time I attempt to get in contact with customer support (via phone or through the App), I run into the stupid automated systems. I just want to stop getting messages to return an item I don’t have.

If I had a different option than Xfinity where I live, I’d drop their service in a heartbeat. Over priced and horrible customer service.

Hello, @user_694y7j thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums and creating a post. You've contacted the right place for support, and I can help get the returned equipment updated, so you no longer receive the messages. I know if I was in your shoes, I'd be frustrated as well when reaching out and not getting support. Since I will need to gather some information to locate your account that we don't want here in our public conversation, when you have time please send a direct message.

To send a direct message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the "Direct Message" icon in the upper right - it looks like a chat bubble

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon just to the right of Conversations

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line - do not use the Employee's name!

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send it

To expedite your request, we ask that you please include your name, the account holder name (if different), and the service address
