Was in next gen upgrade area now am not?
I am writing you because I have had a very frustrating 2 days. I have been through 12 different people on the AI chat, have visited a local Xfinity store 4 times and have had 2 tech visits cancelled on me, they told me I was wasting my time trying to get my 100 upload back.
For the last 2 years I was on a gigabit plan. In the last year of that plan my area was upgraded to the next generation network .
I was receiving the updated speeds until I had to switch to a new plan due to my old contract expiring.
Upon activating the Xfinity gateway my upload dropped to 40 mpbs instead of 100.
I immediately got on chat support and was passed around from billing to tech support for 2 days.
I had two technician visits scheduled only to be called up by the tech before hand and told they would be wasting their time since I was getting the 35mbps my plan offered.
No one wanted or cared that I had been on 100mpbs or would even escalate to someone who would be able to explain what happened.
I had some chat support people tell me that a newer modem was required, and I should go to the store to get a new one, I did that and it did nothing.
As a last attempt to get back what I got, I put my customer owned modem back on, and that did not work either. It only got 40 mpbs upload and the OFDMA channel for upload listed as disabled when I am pretty sure it was bound before.
Earlier in the year I asked reddit xfinity support if i was in an upgraded area. They confirmed that, I got the email saying my area was upgraded and I DID receive the 100mbps at my location.
When everything broke, I then asked the reddit xfinity support again if I was still in the next gen upgrade area, and they said my address no longer showed up as in the next gen upgrade and could offer no idea what happened or if this would even be fixed.
I did recently get another mail saying they were doing network upgrades to support multigigabit in my area about a week ago, that is around the time my upload broke. I was hoping this would be escalated to someone at my local cable plant who knows what happened. But I don’t hold out for much.
I have a Hitron 56 HW Version 1A SW Version 7.3.5.0.1b5
