Very strange experience

Just had a very strange experience. Our internet went out and when I called to report the customer service person told me my service was fine. He then went on to say that my bill was due today and he could help me pay it if I provided him with the full bank account info that Comcast has in their system. I told him no as I don't give that information over the phone. He then kept insisting that I pay the bill and he would then send a signal to reset my modem. when I told him again I do not give my banking info over the phone he suggested that I go and purchase a visa gift card to pay the bill and then they would send the signal.  This is my problem the bill was not late and Comcast does not accept gift cards to pay bills. I to!d him I would pay my bill through my account and hung up. The number I called was taken from the Comcast website.  What I find amazing is after I hung up but before I could compete the payment process on my phone, my internet service came back.  Keep in mind the customer service person kept insisting my internet service was fine (it was not - by the time I hung up the internet had been out for almost an hour).  So is this just a freak occurrence or does Comcast have customer service reps that are trying to steal money from people by holding their internet hostage?

Good afternoon user_6mtc0y. I can assure you this is not the experience we want for you. I would be more than happy to look over your account, and to discuss this further, or provide any additional assistance.

Please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.
