Utility Pole Ownership After Burying Electrical Lines
Hello,
Dominion Energy is planning to bury its electrical lines on our private road at [Edited: "Personal Information"]. Comcast/Xfinity currently has facilities attached to the same poles.
To understand future responsibility for the infrastructure, could you please confirm the following for utility pole VPIGI4 on Happy Hollow Drive:
-
Whether Comcast currently has an active pole attachment agreement for this pole
-
If Dominion removes its electric facilities and abandons this pole, would Comcast become the owner of record, or does Comcast decline pole ownership in this scenario
-
Whether Comcast has any plans to underground or relocate its facilities as part of this Dominion project
-
If Comcast will not assume future pole ownership, which utility would remain responsible for pole maintenance, inspections, and structural repairs
We are trying to understand long-term maintenance and liability implications for the poles along our private road once Dominion completes the undergrounding work.
Thank you very much for your help.
Sincerely,
SK

Hello, @user_3txktm thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. With being new to the forum I understand if you're not familiar with the process, for security purpose we ask that you don't share personal information in the public post (full name, address, etc). You can provide that later once an employee replies and if the conversation move to a direct message.
We partner with our local technician and construction teams, and can reach out to them to get more information regarding the pole ownership and plans on the lines after the power company completes their work. When you have time could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address?
