Used to get 500mbps but I am not only getting 230ish mbps

Hello!

I was getting over 500+ download speeds for months on end. A few months back, I decided to see how 300 down felt. After a few weeks at 300ish, I went back to 500 download speed, but never got the speed back up to 500. It only ever caps out at 250 down. Any help for what the heck is happening? It has been a few months of this now, and anytime I try to get help on the phone, the AI soft locks me!

Hello @user_lnyel3 We will need to get into the account. I would want to make sure the upgrade back up to the 500 actually processed correctly because 250 would not be abnormal on the 300 plan. If the plan went through correctly we can run some additional troubleshooting to try and fix it. Please send us a direct message with your full name and the service address. 

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support: 
Click "Sign In" if necessary 
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging 
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon 
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there 
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list 
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line 
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window 
Press Enter to send it.

So I was able to call in, they had me connect to the modem via laptop, which showed full speed working. Then my entire internet setup stopped working. Had to fully reset my modem and router AI mesh system. The good news is after fully resetting everything, I am now getting the correct speeds. I have no idea what might have been wrong with my router, or if they did something on the back end which required the reset.

I was a little upset my perfectly fine internet suddenly stopped after they had me plug into the modem and they restarted it multiple times. Just weird.
