Urgent: Contractor Misconduct and Property Damage – Request for Escalation
Dear Comcast Executive Support Team,
I am writing to formally report an incident involving one of your contracted vendors, Underground Contractors, Inc., who was performing work in Commerce Township, Michigan on or around July 9, 2025. I am not a Comcast customer, but the crew’s behavior occurred in a public utility area adjacent to my property, and I need to confirm whether Comcast authorized this work and address the serious misconduct that followed.
Despite the utility box being fully accessible from an adjacent empty lot, the crew stood outside the legal easement, directly on my newly laid sod, which was visibly damaged as a result. When I politely asked them to step off the grass, one worker refused, stating he didn’t want to get mud on his boots and into his truck (truck #1209, US DOT 707486). As I became visibly upset, another crew member verbally harassed me and called me a profane name in front of my three young children.
My 70-year-old mother then came outside to support me, at which point a worker driving truck #1195 aggressively drove toward her in a threatening manner, then proceeded to mock, laugh at, and record her while she was visibly distressed. English is her second language, and the crew’s actions were clearly meant to provoke and intimidate. Several of my neighbors witnessed the incident and came outside to help de-escalate the situation.
I have:
Filed a police report (Incident #25158185)
Filed a complaint with Commerce Township Ordinance
Sent a certified letter to Underground Contractors, Inc.
Begun collecting photos, witness statements, and cost documentation for sod replacement
To date, I have received no response from Underground Contractors, and the same crew has returned to our neighborhood. This lack of accountability is unacceptable.
I respectfully request that Comcast:
Confirm whether Underground Contractors, Inc. is performing work on Comcast’s behalf in Commerce Township, MI
Investigate this incident and the conduct of the crew involved
Provide contact information for Comcast’s risk or legal team so I can ensure this matter is properly addressed
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I would appreciate a response within 5 business days. I am happy to provide supporting documentation upon request.
