upload speeds

Hi, I’m on the Gigabit x2 plan (up to 2100 Mbps down / 300 Mbps up), but I’m only getting around 40 Mbps upload even with a direct wired connection to my modem. My logs show repeated critical errors and failed upstream channel bonding. This looks like a provisioning issue — but after reading some of the questions on this on here I have noticed that many of the answers to the earlier questions of this nature are the same "at this time if you own your own modem you can't get the advertised speeds" These posts were a couple of years old so I assume the issue stated before about compatibility has been resolved by now.  So my question is First: Has this compatibility issue been resolved? also if so then My modem is only bonding ATDMA channels for upstream. The OFDMA channels are not locking. I'm getting only 40–42 Mbps upload, despite being on the Gigabit x2 plan with 300 Mbps advertised upstream and my modem shows multiple critical UCD and SYNC timing errors.  Which suggest the firmware or config file is the cause. My Download speeds are spot on however my upload speeds are capped at 40-42 Gbps.  With that said is there a self owned modem that CAN achieve the advertised upload speeds (Or at least half as i am not even getting close to half)? Or is this a limitation to make it to where we have to rent gear to get them.

Hi there, user_57eoym! Thanks for reaching out about the enhanced or next generation upload speeds. We are happy to further help so you can start taking advantage of them. You can use your own modem and achieve those speeds. The modem would need to be compatible with that level of service. This link shows our compatible modems. The next gen compatible modems are shows at the top of page 1. Do you have one of these models already?

Currently they are:

Hitron - Coda and Coda56

Netgear - CM2500, CM3000, and CBR750

Arris/Surfboard - G20, G34, G36, G54, and S34

Ubiquiti - UCI

I have a Netgear CM2000. If this modem can't achieve the full upload speeds, I don't mind upgrading — but I want to be certain that whatever replacement I choose will actually bond OFDMA upstream channels and fully support the Gigabit x2 plan (particularly the 300 Mbps upload). Can you confirm if any of the listed models are currently provisioning correctly and reaching those speeds? If it's just a matter of the right firmware or config file, I'd prefer to keep the one I already have.

Very Respectfully,

Completely understandable @user_57eoym! Customers with eligible devices have confirmed receiving the faster upload speeds and even speeds above.

Having access to the Gigabit X2 plan should guarantee you’re in an area eligible for the next generation mid-split enhanced upload speeds. I’d like to make sure your address is eligible. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Just wanted to follow up again — I did receive a DM asking for verification, and I responded immediately. Unfortunately, I never got the code or any further reply after that, so I ended up having to call support directly instead.

Still trying to confirm whether the CM2000 is fully capable of bonding OFDMA upstream channels and reaching the 300 Mbps upload speeds on the Gigabit x2 plan — or if a different modem (like the CM3000 or S33) is actually working better right now. Any insight from other users or staff would be appreciated so I can move forward with confidence.

Thanks again!

We are happy to meet you back in a direct message and get the code sent over, user_57eoym! We are not an instant chat as you may be used to. We are a smaller team and reply to every message as quickly as possible. It can feel like an email style conversation at times depending on how busy it is.

The CM2000 is not approved for the enhanced upload speeds. The compatible modems are listed on this page. At the top of Page 1, it shows the Next Gen compatible modems that work with the enhanced upload speed of 300 Mbps. Without a compatible modem, we are unable to send through the correct bootfile with the faster speed.

Currently the modems that work for the faster speeds are:

Hitron - CODA and CODA56

Netgear - CM2500, CM3000, and CBR750

Arris/Surfboard - G20, G34, G36, G54, and S34

Ubiquiti - UCI
