Upload Speeds

I'm an existing customer and I'd like to upgrade my upload speed.

On the xfinity site in the Build Your Plan page where it says choose your speed it says the 150, 300, 500, and 800 Mbps plans all have "Typical upload speed 114.98 Mbps." I currently have a 300 plan and get 20 up.

I was chatting with an agent named Nina a couple days ago asking about this and she said "Nina: The upload speed number for the Xfinity Connect More 300 Mbps plan is incorrect. The actual upload speed for the Connect More plan is 20 Mbps."

So if I'm shopping the Build Your Plan page to upgrade my plan and the upload speeds displayed are incorrect how do I proceed? The gigabit tiers do have a different upload speeds listed but are any of the upload speeds displayed correct? Where can I go to see the official actual current upload speeds for all the plans?

Thank you

After posting the above I logged into the xfinity app and the very first thing it shows is "Faster speeds are here. To show our appreciation you can now enjoy 2x faster upload speeds..." But when I tap the "View your new speeds" link it just takes me to the Services tab of the app. I don't see anything about new speeds and running a speed test shows the old speed.

I'm using the MOTOROLA MG7540 16x4 Cable Modem Plus AC1600 Dual Band Wi-Fi Gigabit Router with DFS, 686 Mbps Maximum DOCSIS 3.0 - Approved by Comcast Xfinity

Greetings, @Joe_Victoria! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about your upload speeds. You have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

Currently, there are two categories of upload speeds available, depending on which area you live in. The default upload speed for Connect (150 Mbps download), Connect More (300 Mbps), Fast (500 Mbps), Superfast (800 Mbps), ang Gigabit (1000 Mbps) is 20 Mbps (https://www.xfinity.com/labels).

If you live in an area that has been upgraded to our Next Generation Internet Network (https://www.xfinity.com/network), the upload speeds on these service tiers will be 100 Mbps instead of 20 Mbps. There are a couple of requirements, however, necessary for achieving these increased upload speeds.

The first requirement is being subscribed to a current internet package, like the ones listed above (Connect, Connect More, Fast, Superfast, etc.). If you are subscribed to a legacy internet service like Performance, Performance Pro, Blast!, Extreme, Extreme Pro, etc., your upload speeds will remain at 20 Mbps.

The second and most critical requirement is having a compatible Next Generation modem or gateway. This can be an advanced xFi Gateway like the XB6, XB7, or XB8, or a compatible customer owned modem. Here is a list of compatible modems, as of January 2025:

Hitron Technologies: CODA, CODA56

Netgear: CM2500, CM3000, CBR750

ARRIS / Surfboard: G20, G34, G36, G54, S34

Ubiquiti: UCI

You mentioned using a Motorola MG7540. This is an approved modem, but it will not be capable of receiving the enhanced upload speeds, if they are available in your area. Hopefully, this will help clarify the difference between the upload speeds you are seeing online.

If you would like to have us take a closer look at your specific area and setup, please feel free to send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, and we'd be more than happy to look into this for you.
