Upgrading to the XB8 Modem

Hello there.

I'm currently using Xfinity's gigabit plan for the 1.2GBPS down/35MBPS up speeds, and I have a XB7 modem. I also have wireless devices that could benefit from the Wi-Fi 6E upgrades of the XB8. How would I go about upgrading to the XB8 modem? Xfinity's equipment update website claims I'm already using the latest equipment for my plan, however this is obviously not the case here.

Also, would it cost me anything extra for a self-install kit for this?

Thank you for your time!

Hello @SugarD-x Thanks for coming to our community for help! These are great questions. Your XB7 is compatible for your Gig speed plan. There are two ways you can request an XB8 modem. We can mail out a replacement modem for you. This process can take 3-5 business days. If an XB8 is not available another XB7 will be sent in its place from the warehouse. The guaranteed way to obtain an XB8 is to go into one of our amazing retail stores. I have a link here https://www.xfinity.com/local/store-offers? Where you can locate any store you wish. You also have the option to make an appointment or walk in. I can also check the inventory to confirm before you make that trip. Can you please direct message me your first and last name along with your full service address so that I can assist you further?
