update your geolocation records per the self-published feed - enable email access from Starlink

Dear Comcast. I was provided the following information to relay to you to help resolve this: Starlink is a new global Internet Service Provider and our IPv4/IPv6 address space is continuously expanding. Per RFC 8805, Starlink's Self-Published IP Geolocation Feeds can be found at the following link for machine consumption: https://geoip.starlinkisp.net/feed.csv. This is currently being ingested at a regular schedule with major geolocation providers. If you maintain a local geolocation database, we request that you update your geolocation records per the self-published feed or utilize the major geolocation providers.

@BruceW BruceW, thank you so much for being willing to engage in the conversation.  This problem has existed since we re-enabled our Starlink account on Jan 1.  We did not experience the issue last year during our travels.  This year we tested a few times each week and it fail to sync.  However, I tested it again today in order to see if I could gather more details at your request.

The problem no longer exists, and I am now able to sync my Comcast email to both my PC via Outlook 2021 and my phone via Gmail.  It works great.  I don't know what changed, but am happy that it is working.

Thanks again for being willing to try and help.

The concern is not "Community Knowledge Base" related.................... Topic moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hi there and welcome to Comcast @user_kaatz1. Thank you so much for reaching out to us today about your Geolocation concerns. Can you provide us a bit more details on what you are trying to do?

Thank you.  Our problem is an inability to connect to imap.comcast.net when connected to our Starlink IP.  it works fine when using other providers.  After working with Starlink support, they have suggested the solution above, relative to updating the acceptable IP Geolocations to accept the Starlink connection.  I hope you can help us resolve this issue

@user_kaatz1 Geolocation is not a service Comcast provides or can affect as it is provided by third party vendors. If you are having problems with the geolocation service on an individual website, you should contact that website’s support to find what vendors they are using for geolocation services and submit the IP address to be corrected in their databases. Many of these vendors will have the process to correct your IP address listed on the site.

Right.  Comcast is the vendor that won't allow me access when I am using Starlink as my IP.  You have identified the problem correctly, but incorrectly identified Comcast's role.

@user_kaatz1  Both are correct, we handle customer accounts and services here on the forums. Requesting assistance to access a website from another ISP is not within our support options. You can try the Comcast Security Assurance team here https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse.

... inability to connect to imap.comcast.net when connected to our Starlink IP ...

I've never heard of Comcast denying a connection to their email servers based on geolocation. They might block IP addresses, even ranges of addresses, if the traffic from them is abusive, but that's a different matter.

What form does the inability to connect take exactly? What happens when you try? Any error messages? What browser, program, or app are you using? What kind of computer or mobile device? The more details you can provide about the trouble you are having, the better.
