unsolicited texts with 'Xfinity codes'

Is anyone receiving unsolicited texts from Xfinity with security codes?  The number sending the text is the same one they sent me when I called to link to their virtual assistant.  I received 2 today within 3 hours and naturally Xfinity knows nothing about it and claim it is not coming from them.

The message reads:  "Your Xfinity code is XXXXXX.  It will expire in 15 mins.  We will never request this code.  Don't share it with anyone."

Each message has a different set of 6 digits.

I use another carrier for mobile but I do have internet, tv, and landline with Xfinity.

Hello @Cuttingthecable thank you for reaching out to our Xfinity Community Forums. I hope you're having an awesome day. I know I'd be a bit annoyed receiving unsolicited text. Usually in these situations, you have your two-step-verification turned on and the unauthorized user (or someone sharing your sign-in) is not able to sign in. At times, that unauthorized user may be your significant other or family.

In this case, I think the best thing to do would be to update your Xfinity password. Here is an article that will walk you step by step if you're not sure how to do so: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/changing-or-resetting-your-password. Once you have updated your password, let us know if the unsolicited text stop.

@XfinityQuemekia  I discovered that an email similar to mine was 'deactivated' around the same time.  Since I knew it was not mine I allowed it to die.  Whoever was using that email, which contained my first and last name, was apparently trying to log in and that email had my cell phone number as the contact for the 2 step verification.  I am grateful that the clone email can no longer log in - but somebody was clearly using it and never had an issue logging in until it was deactivated.  Very strange but I feel that the bad actor has been eliminated with the bad email.
