Unjustified price increase

I got an email saying they got a cancellation request, which I never sent, so I called to tell them I hadn't submitted one. The agent reinstated my service, but the price was higher. I told him I wanted to go back to my old contract since I hadn't submitted a request. I'm really upset because I didn't submit a request, and even the agent said that sometimes happens due to a glitch. I shouldn't be given a new contract with a higher fee. I'll terminate my service and go to a different carrier even if I have to pay more. I feel like this was all a scam from Xfinity to raise my current price.

Good afternoon user_x922j0. I can certainly understand your concern, and will be happy to assist further. With cancellation requests if a new or existing customer incorrectly enters an address, it can generate a communication such as what you described. That does allow for any issues to be caught before any disconnect occurs.

With that being said, did your service ever officially get disconnected? Or did we address the concern before an interruption took place?
