Unable to speak to a live person

I have called from the phone number attached to my account yet, it's "unsafe" to talk to me on the phone. I have had comcast/xfinity for almost 10 years due to the area I live in that's the only thing that works, but it's not worth it. Between the constant outages and price changes this is insane and honestly, I want to call it price gouging. 

Now when I want to speak to someone it's impossible and honestly unfair. Is this the new societal norm?
