Unable to add unlimited data to plan

First I tried to update my plan to add unlimited data via the account management options and received a error code. Next I tried the xfinity chat and was told I can only add unlimited data if I use the xfinity hardware but I would like to keep my personal hardware.  Can I please receive some help, I am getting annoyed at the monthly texts and emails about using up my allowable data.

Hello, @Pbittner thank you for taking the time out of your day to create a post, you have contacted the right place for assistance in regard to unlimited data. This isn't the experience we want you to have when trying to upgrade, and I would be able to assist with adding unlimited data.

You do not need to lease a Xfinity Modem to get unlimited data, we offer unlimited data with our xFi Complete service which also includes the modem lease, and advanced security for $25 per month. For customers who provide their own modem, unlimited data is $30 per month. - https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/

Some areas don't have a data threshold so if you live in any of these areas you wouldn't need unlimited data. The Plan is not applicable in our Northeast markets, including CT, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, VA, VT, WV, the District of Columbia, and parts of NC and OH.
