Two different people, same comcast email address???

I am receiving emails in my Comcast email account that are clearly meant for a different person.  These emails show a person with my same last name and same first initial but different first name and totally different physical address (different state even).  Is a duplicate email possible??  Is it likely this other person input an incorrect email into several different accounts such that my email account shown up and not theirs? Maybe they left out a letter or number? How can I get to the bottom of this and fix it?

@user_6b8eba Thank you for reaching out to the Digital Care Team, and bringing this to our attention. It does sound like someone set up their account information incorrectly. Please reach out to our awesome Security Assurance Team at

1-888-565-4329 or 1-800-XFINITY, so we can immediately have this corrected. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

@XfinityHeather Question not answered.  The guy I talked to when I called that number was not helpful at all.  Said he couldn't do anything.  So, I've asked that his supervisor, or someone up the line, call me so I can understand what is going on with my email.

@user_6b8eba, I'm sorry to hear there wasn't more they could do to help you.

Unfortunately, if you are looking specifically to have us remove that email from another user's account, we won't be able to do so. We always seek a customer's approval before we make any account changes for them. That being said, that user would need to either remove the email from their account themselves or reach out to us and give approval for us to make the change.

Alternatively, you can change that email address and update it on your account or you can set up a filter specifically to identify emails from us that aren't for your account and send them to a separate folder to be easily discarded.

I no longer work for Comcast.

Thank you.  What I am wondering is:  if this other person has an email address that is very similar to mine, but maybe one digit different and it gets entered incorrectly when they open certain accounts??  I would think that if our email addresses were identical then we'd both be getting each others emails and I don't think that is the case.  Is there a way to verify the other persons actual email address?  I have a name and physical address from the most recent account info I erroneously received.  I don't need any other info from or about the other person; I just need to know that we truly do not share the exact same email address. I can't ask that but maybe you as Xfinity can??

There is not a way to share an exact email address, the only issue it may have been entered incorrectly on the other person's account for alerts regarding their account. The other customer's account would list the same email address, but it would have been entered in error. Our CSA team would be the only ones able to further research how to stop the emails from coming to your inbox outside of the filter settings. For this type of filter, it would be the "contains" option, and then you would want to enter something fitting to their emails such as their address or account specific information that's showing in the emails.

I no longer work for Comcast.

Thank you for the info.  I will try the filter settings "contains" option.
