TV channel selection- MSG

I am a former NYC resident and

enjoy watching the Knicks and Rangers. I recently subscribed to Xfinity and was upset to learn that the MSG network was unavailable after I subscribed. I contacted customer service and asked if they would issue a credit to offset the cost of the MSG subscription.  I was disappointed when they said no and will now look into other options like YouTube and Verizon.

Good afternoon @user_5nqfdq. While that channel is unavailable, there are options to see your teams in action. We have both NBA League Pass and NHL Center Ice available to cover all their games and more. You can find more details https://www.xfinity.com/learn/digital-cable-tv/sports/nba/league-pass and https://www.xfinity.com/learn/digital-cable-tv/sports/nhl/center-ice.

I got the NBA app, and it keeps telling me the game is blocked because it’s available locally, when it’s not (it’s on MSG)

Hey there, @user_ko8rek. It looks like Xfinity's agreement with the MSG Network expired back in September 2021 and we have not since gone into another agreement with that broadcaster. That being said, any games being shown on that network exclusively, Xfinity will not have access to it until a new agreement can be made between the two. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I am glad I was able to get you a rhyme to the reason you don't have access to that content.
