TV Box - Never Used nor Activate it, can I get a refund?

Hi, I just reviewed my billing history and noticed I’ve been charged $12/month for a TV box that I never activated or used.

It came with the initial plan that I got, but I never activated it. I still have the TV box. I didn't know I was getting charged $12/m for I don't know how many years! Probably around $800-$1,200 that I have been charged overall for something I never even activate it.

I’d like to know a few things first though.
-Does returning that box change my plan that I have right now? Do I have to have the TV box in order to keep my plan? I have the Connected More plan.

-If I don't have to pay for the box to keep my current internet service, I would like to have this TV box charge removed immediately from my account going forward

-Can I request a refund or courtesy credit for the years I’ve been charged for unused, inactive equipment?

I’ve been a loyal customer and genuinely didn’t notice this fee before. Now that I have, I hope Xfinity can make it right.

I am asking here because I can't seem to chat with a representative. Nor can I get in contact with an agent via phone call. It is annoying that I just want to talk to someone about this issue, and all I get is with automated responses.

enocz Thanks for reaching out! If you have the TV box in your position it would need to be returned in order to have the ongoing billing charge removed from your account. The TV box can be returned to any Xfinity Store, or through the Digital Return Center. If you have an internet only plan, with no TV service you can return it without your current plan being impacted. You can dispute charges on a bill or request billing credits. However, per our Xfinity Residential Service Agreement you must contact us within 120 days of the date on your bill to dispute any charges.

I am having the same exact issue. How do I dispute a charge for this?

user_x45f5m Thank you so much for letting us know you are being billed for an unused TV box. Monthly billing for TV boxes does not depend on use. As soon as one is sent out /connected to your account, billing would begin and continue till the box is returned or removed from the account, even if not in use. If you have already returned the equipment and you continue to be billed, let us know so we can better assist.
