tv box keep going out

I have had to replace my Xfinity box 3 times in 8 months. After a storm, lightning & rain, the box does not work. Xfinity has sent out a technician that just switched the box. All works until a random storm comes along. Yes the system is plugged into a surge protector. It is plugged into an hdmi port.  No, nothing else is affected. I have an Amazon firestick in another hdmi port and a soundbar which all work fine. The tv is a Samsung uhd that is less than a year old. Something is wrong with these boxes since all works fine until the next storm. I am tired of switching out boxes and will most likely try another tv provider. My question is what is going on Xfinity???
