Turn off xfinity public hotspot

Good evening! Thank you for your post! You can manage the Xfinity WiFi Home Hotspot in the Xfinity App. Here are the directions: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/disable-xfinity-wifi-home-hotspot. Do you mind me asking why you are looking to turn it off? We would love to get feedback so we can improve our product.

I know it says it does not effect the speed but my son uses it and no one else can use the home private network to do anything, but when he is at school everything works fine he is not allowed on the private network for security and usage concerns

And whenever I or any one else on the forums try to disable it themselves it just gives errors like there was a problem try again later, and it looks like this is ongoing for years

@CelesRamoth I first recommend rebooting your gateway before and after you make a change to the settings. It helps the change stick and reduces errors. With your internet slowing down while your son is using the hotspot, that shouldn't be happening. Do you know if it affects devices connected via Ethernet?
