Trees growing into phone/cable lines

There are trees and branches growing into the utility lines in the public alley behind my house. I contacted the power company, and they said they are your lines and will therefore not trim anything. I can provide photos as well. Who can I contact to trim and/or remove these trees? If the branches snap or tree falls, it could cause damage and outages. We’ve had numerous ice storms this year that caused many down lines due to trees.

@user_a05f20 Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us on our Community Forums page. We do need to let you know that our Maintenance Team does not remove branches or trees. Our team will assist in cases where the line has been damaged or cut, but even in that situation, we don't trim or remove any environmental debris. You will need to consult with a tree/branch removal company in your area.

If the trees are in the public alley and not part of your property, as in a tree on your property hangs over into the public alley and then into the lines, it would be your responsibility to take care of the tree trimming.  However, if the trees involved are beyond your property line and growing in the public alley, then it would most likely be up to the city or township to have them trimmed.
