Greetings, @nerdyplayer! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about your cable line. You have definitely come to the right place for assistance.
Trees can sometimes be a little tricky to deal with, depending on the regulations in your area. Line technicians are not able to cut away trees, but they can disconnect and/or reconnect the line to help support any tree cutting efforts. It is usually recommended to reach out to your local city, municipality, or utility provider to see if there are any guiding regulations in place. I know where I live, trees that are tall enough to reach overhead lines can only be cut by the city.
If you need to have your line disconnected before having any work done, we can submit a request to have someone come out. Most regions will assess a standard $100.00 repair charge when a line needs to be moved to a different location, but it's hard to say if that would apply in this particular situation. It will ultimately be at the discretion of our maintenance team.
If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.
To send a Direct Message, please click on the “Direct Message” icon in the top-right corner of the screen, next to the bell icon, click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon, then type or select "Xfinity Support".
