There is absolutely zero reason why anyone with residential internet that has over 1gbps should be capped at 40 mbps upload speeds. I get 120 mbps on upload speeds just on my cell phone off of the towers. Its pathetic and a rip off that xfinity doesnt even care about the complaints of their consumers to unlock their capped upload speeds. We pay enough for it but yet here we are in 2025 with 2001 data speeds. I cant wait for the competition to get done installing their fiber so i can switch. Business practices at xfinity are garbage.

We are currently in the process of updating the networks in all of our footprint, and if you already haven't signed up there is a helpful site you can visit to receive notifications when the area work is set to start in your area:

Customers that lease our Xfinity gateway will have equipment that supports the higher upload speeds once available. For customers who provide their own modem, we also have an up to date list of modems that support higher speeds on our network once available:
