Transfer ACP Credit to Another Provider
I called to cancel my ACP credit to comcast as I will be transferring to another provider. They said only internet essentials can do it and well a ticket was created because they said it takes several days to do so. I then later also called to cancel my service. The crazy part is that when I requested to remove my ACP, they said that they will have to create a ticket. Once we were about to be done, once I asked to get my ticket number, they were reluctant and said to wait a minute, then asked me more questions. They were creating the ticket only because I requested the ticket number, otherwise they would have not created a ticket.
I called today to check status on ACP removal because I need to apply it to my new provider, but the first rep told me they can see I am enrolled, and see that my service in being cancelled. He said to check the status he has to transfer me to internet essentials. Why is the ACP being handled by people in India? This is a US federal program and should not be handled by outsiders. I get regular assistance when I call first, but every time I get transferred to Internet essentials I get placed to someone in India.
Internet essentials said that they cannot check my ticket even though they were the ones who created it for me, and said that it will be completed on February, my last day of billing. This is ridiculous. They had told be it would be a couple days to remove the credit, not wait until the billing cycle. They said this only because they kept saying my service was disconnected. Duh of course, I called to cancel as well because Im switching providers, and this call was about the ACP removal status, not my service.
XFINITY ACP representatives in INDIA are a joke. You need to have local employees handle the federal programs.

No longer need help, I was able to get assistance via chat, and everything was explained in a much clearer way. Phone support for the internet essentials and ACP credit should remain here though not be outsourced. But either way, Im glad Im finally done with Xfinity and going with Fiber now for the better upload speeds.
