There is an orange cable in my yard

Hello,

There is an orange cable running from the comcast box at the back of my yard to my neighbor's yard.

Can you bury it?

Hi user_k45l79, thanks for posting here on the community forums! I'm sorry that the cable is running through your yard, I know it can be a hindrance and an eyesore before it's buried. The fact that the cable is orange would indicate that it's a temporary line and would indeed be slated for burial. This typically occurs within 14 business days the cable being connected. That said, how long has the cable been in the yard?

Not sure it was there when we bought the house a few years ago. It was covered by a bunch of leaves, but we cleaned all that up, so now it is above ground.

Ah, so we're long past that 14-day window. Thanks for clarifying, user_k45l79! In that case, we'll definitely want to take a more direct approach to get that line buried! Please send us a direct message with your full name, name on the account (if different or applicable), and service address, and we'll get the ball rolling!

How to Send Us a Direct Message:

  1. Click "Sign In" if necessary.
  2. Click the "Direct Messaging" icon.
  3. Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
  4. In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support".
  5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  6. A "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
  7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
  8. Press Enter to send it.
