terrible experience

I purchased a new iPhone on June 21 with a credit of $700 for future payments if the old phone is returned by July 12.

I returned the phone, which had a sticker on it saying they had it on 7/7.

The phone was returned to me on 7/28 in a box with no explanation.

My bill increases by $41 because it is the amount of the monthly payments to buy the phone that is supposed to be deducted from the credits.

I spent an hour on the phone this morning with an offshore, worthless customer care team that doesn't understand the issues, tells me I have to pay the $41, and asks if I'm satisfied - I hang up on them.

I took the phone to the Xfinity store afterward and showed them the promotion, along with the phone and the dates it was received.

They told me that because the phone wasn't wiped (a two-minute process), no promotion for me, the bill remains with an extra $41, and my best bet is to try and sell it on FB marketplace.

Without bending time and knowing why it was returned 20 days after they received the phone, what could I have possibly done???

Will never purchase from Xfinity again and will do my best to cancel all of my Xfinity services over the next few months while telling anyone I can; what a horrible experience.
