Temporarily (re)provision a modem that was used prior to upgrade while we wait for replacement?

We upgraded our modem last month to support xfinity voice that we added to our account, however, the modem we purchased has malfunctioned. We are now waiting for a replacement modem which probably will not arrive until sometime next week. Can I temporarily activate the modem we had previously used before the upgrade, even though it does not support voice, so that we can get internet access? If so what is the best way to temporarily re-provision the modem? And if I need to speak with someone should I communicate that this is temporary?

Thank you for reaching out to us here @user_xya84r. We can activate that modem from our end for you. Could you send me a direct message with the full name and complete address for your service?

To send a direct message [private message]:

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it
