Technician request

Hello, my house has been having prolonged issues with the WiFi and the extender. I want to schedule an appointment with a technician to figure it out.

Good evening user_cd1ka1 thanks so much for taking the time to reach out here on our Xfinity Forums with these service concerns! What specifically is going on with the services and the Wi-Fi extender?  How long has this issue been occurring? Have you had a technician out before for this same issue, and if so, how long ago was that?

We have an excellent self-troubleshooting resource here on the Forums that helps many people with intermittent or prolonged service issues:

Hello, my roommates are reporting that they have not been able to join any of their work calls using the WiFi and have been using their hotspots to do anything.

This has been happening for at least a month for the roommate furthest away from the router, and the roommate in between just reported similar issues today. I have not had issues because my room is the closest to the router in the living room.

We have not had a technician out and would like to request one.

Thank you

Since the trouble seems to be happening in the rooms furthest from the router, it sounds like a signal reach or interference issue.
Before we schedule a technician, which can sometimes involve a service fee depending on the fix, could you let me know where your equipment is sitting? For the best signal, you'll want to make sure the gateway is out in the open (not tucked in a cabinet) and away from other electronics like microwaves or baby monitors that might be blocking the connection to your roommates.

@user_cd1ka1 If that doesn't do the trick, I can certainly look into scheduling a tech to come out.

Hi, our router is sitting in the furthest left side of the apartment behind the couch. Unfortunately, we think this is the only spot with an Ethernet port. The tricky thing with our apartment is that it is very long, hence why the need for the extender.

If we could still schedule a technician that would be great. An old roommate was in charge of the WiFi and it worked fine before so I know it’s possible, just not sure how to execute it.
