Hello, @user_17nuzl thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. I'm glad to see one of our awesome Forum expert @EG was able to get your post moved over to bring this to my attention and would like to investigate further. The Xfinity gateway does have both a public and private network that is broadcast, to ensure I'm on the same page:
- When going to select a network to connect to, do you see your home network with a lock symbol next to it (This one you would need the WiFi password to access)?
If you don't want the Xfinity gateway to have the public hotspot network broadcast, you can manage that following the steps outlined on this helpful document: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/disable-xfinity-wifi-home-hotspot
