Tech assisted installation $39.99

I have a question about your technician assisted installation for $39.99.

I understand that the technician will explain to me what I need to do to activate my services, but he is not supposed to stay there with me, holding my hand while I activate the services. Once he has showed me what I need to do, he will take off for his next customer or whatever.

If I prefer for the technician to stay until my services are fully activated, I would need to upgrade my appointment to the professional installation type for $89.99, correct?

Hello @user_srbw3y, thank you for taking the time to leave a post.  I can certainly understand wanting to know exactly what level of support to expect before your appointment. Based on the installation options, your understanding is correct. With a Technician Assisted Installation, the technician delivers the Getting Started Kit and verifies the connections for up to three outlets/devices. Still, you are responsible for completing the equipment setup and activation yourself. If you prefer that the technician remain on-site to handle the installation, setup, and activation of all services and equipment for you, then a Professional Installation would be the appropriate option. With that service, the technician enters the home and completes the full installation and activation process.

@XfinityMarshante

I understand that under Technician Assisted Installation I am responsible for completing the equipment setup and activation myself.

But while I am at it, is the technician supposed to stick around until I complete the activation process

user_srbw3y Great question! Yes, the technicians will want to confirm that everything is up and running before leaving your home.

Let me get this straight. I’m not a tech-savvy person. What takes your technician 5 minutes to do, I bet will take me a whole hour

Now, under the $39.99 Technician-Assisted Installation, is the technician really supposed to wait until I complete the activation myself, no matter how long it takes me?

user_srbw3y The technician will be there to provide education on how to do the installation so that you do not have to stress your way through it. We certainly understand that everyone's at a different skill level, as this is something not everyone has had to do before. We assure you the technician will provide the support needed to make sure we get you online.
