Target gift card scam

Don’t fall for this Xfinity will not ask you to pay using target gift cards. Think about it. These scammers are good. I call them every week I speak to a guy called Jimmie.  He’s got an Indian accent like most of the people you talk to to when you call Xfinity but he’s a scammer. I tell him that. I’ve called Xfinity numerous times to report this but they do nothing. The last person I spoke to at Xfinity (Nicole) said she’d do an internal review. What does that mean? I gave you the phone number. Just call it and it’s not Xfinity work with the authorities to shut them down. Totally inept.  Seems like Xfinity doesn’t care about their customers getting scammed.  So I’m warning you. Don’t fall for this. Don’t pay using gift cards.

Hello @user_lipt84, Thank you for taking the time out of your day to leave a post. I hope your week is off to a great start. You are so right, these scammers do not give up. I receive so many calls and messages every day from them. So I understand how frustrating it can be with them nonstop. Here is an article on protecting yourself from fraud. It also provides ways to report fraud. You can also go here to see the Latest Cybersecurity Alerts

You’ve got to ask yourself why would Xfinity want you to use a target gift card??? They won’t.  This is a total scam.  If you get a call from them make sure you call them back and mess with them. If you end up talking to someone named “Jimmie” tell him his buddy John says hi and that John will call him back after he returns from Vegas.

If you have gotten a call claiming to be from Comcast asking you to buy gift cards or paying upfront for six months or more in exchange for 50% off your bill the FTC is well aware of this scam.  If you get a call like this you can report it to:     https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
The FTC also has a great webpage on Scams.  Please check it out as well.
For Target Gift Cards:
Call 1 (800) 544-2943 and follow Target’s instructions.
Keep a copy of the Target gift card or your store receipt.
Please help to stop the spread of this kind of fraud.
Thanks!
