Switch from Astound to Xfinity NOW
My son has internet service by Astound. He wants to switch to Xfinity NOW. Does he just plug in the new Xfinity gateway and follow instructions? And then cancel Astound once it is switched and works.? Or does he have to do something since he has Astound active.

No. You can't just do that. That's an Astound feed. The Xfinity gateway device has to be connected to a live coax cable feed from Comcast. First, are you sure that Comcast service is even available / has lines installed on the poles in your area ? If so, they would have install a coax cable drop line from the pole to your premises.

Not surprising. Sometimes the cart gets put before the horse. I'm going to escalate this to the Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) who are available to these boards. They will be able to help you get this sorted out. You should get a reply here in your topic. Good luck !

I contacted support, but they disappeared. I’ll keep checking, but haven’t heard anything in 30 min after initial contact
