SW Houston Outage

Going on 13 hours now with ZERO communication.

Unacceptable. We work from home and pay to have functioning internet. Zero word on what the problem is and why it is taking this long to fix.

What am I paying for? Why is Xfinity incapable of keeping service up in Houston?

compguy83 Thank you for reaching out! We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience during any local service interruption. The Xfinity Status Center, or Xfinity App will be the best place to check for any updates pertaining to a local service interruption. You can also visit the Comcast Texas website for alerts, and updates. Our local teams work as fast, and safe as possible to restore services. We thank you for your patience!

@XfinityMartyR None of that is helpful, but that isn't surprising.

The status center just keeps pushing the ETA further and further with zero update as to what the problem is. How is it still "Pending Assessment" after nearly 14 hours now?

This is a common issue. I haven't even had Xfinity for a year yet and the number and length of outtages is obscene.

I have no way of knowing I'd anyone us even working on it because for 14 hours the app has said the same thing.

What is actually going on here?

100% agree! Basically Xfinity is down from West of Fountainview, South of I10, North of 69, and Fondren may even be Gessner. This is unacceptable and even more so that you cannot call anyone live to find out what the problem is. I truly do not understand how they get away with this.

Good afternoon, user_jm2w3k! While there are many factors that can impede our ability to restore services as quickly as we may want or be able to, please know that it is always our goal to provide you with the services that you pay for, and that we always work diligently to restore services as quickly and as safely as we can. We're certainly sorry for any inconveniences you or any loved ones are experiencing during the service interruption.

The Xfinity app and our Status Center are updated by the local technicians and is the best place to keep an eye on things,. You can also sign up for alerts so you know the moment the work is completed. It has the same information that we see on our end at your fingertips.

Another useless app suggestion.

The app doesn't say anything pertinent. We're running on 15 hours now without service in this area and all the app does is keeping pushing back the restoration ETA.

I am sorry for that frustration @compguy83. The https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/check-service-outage sites are the best option to check on any service interruption, you can also sign up for the text notifications there. The information we have available would be the same as the links provided.

At the very least you should tell us what the problem is. Is it hackers messing with your system, a computer patch or update that went wrong etc. The basic question is WHY don’t I have service

@user_sqlohj Unfortunately, the exact cause for a service interruption may not always be readily available. Many things can impact your services, such as weather, fiber cuts, power interruptions, etc. Our local teams may need to work with other utilities to have services restored. Our support teams have the same information, and restoration estimates that are shared with you, on the Xfinity Status Center. We do apologize for the delay in service restoration, and appreciate your patience!
