Strange call claiming to be Xfinity

I got a call today from somebody claiming to be from Xfinity Internet services about the security of my modem and wanted me to put my computer up next to my modem so they can download security updates. I hung up not sure if this is our Xfinity person or not.

Hello, user_wd84v4. Thanks for posting on our Community Forums to let us know about your situation. That does sound like a scam. A good place to check reported scams would be online, by visiting our Customer Security Assurance Alerts (CSA) website. You can match the phone number with the ones listed there and report it. I hope this helps.

I just received a call too about my modem being on a low security mode.  Number that called me was [Removed "invalid phone number"].  Background noise sounded like it was in a call center.  Funny thing, I don't have comcast/xfinity internet anymore.  But I do want people to be aware.
