user_raour7 Thank you so much for your post for help with your Storm -Ready wifi device. I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your device and your backup connection. If you have not already done so we recomend starting by checking out our Storm-Redy Wifi troubleshooting page for how you can use the Xfinity app to troubleshoot your device.  The steps there will show you how to use the Xfinity app to troubleshoot your Storm-Ready WiFi device and provide a status for your WiFi signal, cellular signal and Battery Backup.

the storm backer does not work at all!!  It’s supposed to be automatic. My device says Active but I see no WiFi signal.  All my devices are trying to Hotspot to my phone.
Super disappointed in Xfinity!!

@user_raour7 That would be worrying, and I apologize you do not have a connection at this time have you already used the troubleshooting steps shown in the Xfinity app as the troubleshooting page shows? What is the Xfinity app showing? Is your Storm-Ready device near a window to ensure the best path for a connection?

I just moved the Storm Ready device as close to the window as it can get.  The app says the signal strength is “fair”.  Certainly not going to be enough to allow me to keep working on video appointments for my job

Still very disappointed as this product doesn’t appear to live up to the hype!

Now I’m seeing on Reddit that other folks purchased this as well and it didn’t work for them either

I want to call Xfinity about the Storm Ready device, but it’s impossible to speak to a live person unless they reboot your whole system and the you wait an hour.

We are glad to continue helping you right here, user_raour7. You don't have to reach out in other ways. We are a one-stop shop. I appreciate you moving that closer to the window. Do you have that elevated as suggested? Is the Storm Ready device between five and 30 feet from the Xfinity Gateway?

What kind of extender would it be if you had to be 5-30 feet from router… this is the dumbest system ever almost 2 years and now fighting over the last year to get resolved… took full amount out of checking account when I canceled service trying to return
