Status of scripps channels

Losing local station owned by scripps is a big deal. Xfinity customers are always having their bills increased outside of contracts with owner stations. I just switched to a cheaper package after last increase. Now you’re taking away channels. I see no incentive to stay any longer.

Comcast pays networks and station owners for the ability to deliver their programming to Comcast customers. Agreements are negotiated to bring customers the best value for the content they want. For more information, see xfinity.com/howitworks. A number of reasonable offers have been made that E. W. Scripps, the owner of these local broadcast stations, has not accepted. I am sorry for how this has affected you and your household at this time. @boo49

It’s been a week since Xfinity customers lost access to ABC programs.  Will we be reimbursed?

Hello, user_ku6zlw! No. In the next few months, our contracts for the channels listed on the contract renewals site may expire. We expect that we’ll be able to renew these agreements without service interruption and continue carrying the channels now and in the future.

In the event an agreement can't be reached, however, the programmer may no longer permit us to carry them. Loss of broadcast stations listed on our updated contract renewals page would include the loss of the multicast signal(s), if any, associated with the stations.

I agree. They are pricing themselves out of business. I am sick of it

When will Xfinity / Comcast choose to offer a la carte cable packages?

Thanks for reaching out about E. W. Scripps (Scripps) programming. Comcast renewed its agreement with Scripps to carry its programming, and, at this time, all content has been restored. You should now be able to watch it as you would normally. Unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and Comcast appreciates your patience as they worked to bring back Scripps’s programming. For more information on how programming agreements work, visit www.xfinity.com/howitworks. The ala carte option would not be available with the agreements we have with the Networks that provide our content.
